The Florida Senate has permanently postponed its occupational licensing bill. It is a disappointing result for a State that had seemed to have a lot of reform momentum a few months ago.
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan signed into law a bill that expands scope-of-practice for optometrists. The bill removes the provision that requires optometrists to refer certain patients to ophthalmologists.
The North Carolina House unanimously passed a bill providing relief to ex-offenders. It would raise the standard by which licensing boards would have authority to deny a formerly convicted citizen a license.
