The Intercept’s Lee Fang writes about efforts by GOP lawmakers to deregulate the banking sector during the Covid-19 crisis. He argues that reducing regulations such as capital requirements on community banks could increase the risk of a financial crisis in the future.

Neil Irwin reports at the New York Times on political fight over where to target bailouts. He correctly notes that lengthier fights over bailouts could impose serious delays to economic recovery.
