Also of note in DC, property showings are plummeting as expected with social distancing. This could have implications for metro area housing prices in the future.

Of course, housing is complicated in part because its affordability directly cuts against homeownership as a method of generating wealth. A new CEPR Vox post explores the role of broad homeownership across OECD countries in reducing inequality and producing powerful political incumbents against development.
