The benefits of PHIMBY (public housing in my backyard). In a post in Market Urbanism, Michael Lewyn discusses the benefits of public housing as a treatment for the housing affordability crisis. Public housing does address the main cause of the crisis: a lack of supply, but it’s a heavy political lift that runs into the same problems as private development.
